Sycamore High School senior Nicole O'Connor has been chosen as the Sycamore Rotary Club's Student of the Month for October 2009.

She is ranked #1 in her class as of this month, with a 4.14 GPA; she has been on the High Honor Roll four straight years, and is a member of the National Honor Society and the Sycamore H.S. Student Council.

Nicole has been team captain, and won letters, for the Spartans' cross-country and track & field teams; she was also a state qualifier in her sophomore and junior years.

She has also volunteered extensively for projects such as Meals on Wheels, Christ Community Church Kids' World, tutoring at Neighbor's House, and the Salvation Army.

Nicole plans on pursuing a career working with children, she would like to attend either Marquette University, Loyola or the University of Iowa.
