Twin brothers Ian and Kristian Kates have both been chosen as the Sycamore Rotary Club's Students of the Month for September 2009.

Both are seniors at Sycamore High School; Kristian is ranked 2nd in his class, and has been on the school's cross-country team and track teams all four years.  Ian is 8th in the class, and has been on the soccer and track teams since his freshman year.

Both are National Honor Society members, and have been active in the school music department.  Kristian has also been studying with the Kishwaukee Education Consortium's aviation class...while Ian has been with the NIU Community School Jazz Band.

Kristian wants to attend the U.S. Air Force Academy, or enter Air Force ROTC and study aerospace engineering; he hopes this will lead to a career as an astronaut for NASA.

Ian is undecided on a university, but he is looking at studying medicine, engineering, history, music and aviation.
