Sycamore H.S. Teams, Coach & Student Honored PDF Print E-mail

Sycamore High School's head football coach, Joe Ryan, has been named the Sycamore Rotary Club's Citizen of the Month for November 2009...while senior Jordan Mottet has been chosen the November 2009 Student of the Month, and the football and volleyball teams were each recognized.

Coach Ryan led the Spartans to the Class 5A Quarterfinals in the IHSA Football Playoffs.  He was chosen for the leadership and development he's given to his teams over the years; Ryan says he long ago decided he didn't want to leave Sycamore High School...because he's never found a better school to work at, anywhere.

In recognition of Ryan's achievements, the Sycamore Rotary Club has donated $100.00 to the Pay it Forward House in his name.

Also honored at the November 18th, 2009 meeting was the Sycamore H.S. girls volleyball team, which advanced to the Class 3A State Finals in Bloomington-Normal; they finished in 3rd place, for the second time in three years.

Senior Jordan Mottet was also on hand, to be recognized as Student of the Month for November 2009; she currently ranks 5th in her class, with a score of 30 on the ACT.  She is considering a career in medicine, and is considering attending several major schools around the Midwest.

In recognition of Jordan's achievements, the Sycamore Rotary Club has donate $100.00 to the American Cancer Society in her name.
